Why this campaign exists

We Got Us Cincy.

We Got Us

We Got Us Cincy is a portrait and storytelling campaign created in partnership with Black Voters Matter to celebrate the cultural leaders and everyday heroes already shaping Cincinnati.

The Class of 2026 includes organizers, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, advocates, and neighbors who understand that civic responsibility does not begin at the ballot box. It begins in our neighborhoods, our conversations, and our willingness to show up for one another.

This campaign is about more than portraits. It is about documenting the people creating change, amplifying the stories that often go untold, and reminding our city that civic power belongs to all of us. Every portrait is proof that ordinary people have the ability to shape what comes next.

Join the movement

  • 01 Canvass with us. Turn your likes and comments into action offline. Join us as we hit the pavement, connect neighbors with resources, and talk about the issues shaping our city.
  • 02 Join us for a Phone Banking Brunch. Come for the vibes and conversation, and help us reach members of our community as we strengthen civic engagement across Cincinnati.
  • 03 Lend your story. Civic responsibility begins with the power of a story told out loud. Share your voice and become part of the ripple effect.
  • 04 Join us for Cincy Day of Action. Gather with Black Voters Matter for dinner and a movie at Light of the World Church on August 23 as we celebrate community, culture, and collective action.
